Fertilizer Programs

2-Step Program

This treatment is for the yard that doesn’t need to be perfect, but will control weeds so they don’t take over. This program includes a liquid broad leaf weed control (dandelions are the most common) and granular fertilizer.  It does not include a pre-emergent treatment.  It does not guaranty new re-growth weed kill.  The first service is usually done in late spring/early summer and the second service is done late summer/early fall depending on the weather.

4-Step Program

Our 4-step fertilization program includes:
  1. Early Spring–Pre-Emergent Application with Lawn Food and treating broadleaf weeds that are present, prevents annual weeds like crabgrass and broadleaf and a fertilizer to jump start growth
  2. Late Spring–Weed and Feed application and Pre-Emergent with Lawn Food, a blanket of weed control is applied along with second application of pre-emergent and fertilizer
  3. Early Fall–A slow release fertilizer is applied to help the lawn bounce back from summer heat stress.  Broadleaf is treated as needed
  4. Winterization–A dormant feed fertilizer is applied to help root growth in the winter months which helps with an early spring green.  We also treat broadleaf as needed.

6-Step Program

Optional Treatments Offered

If you are interested in a quote for these other treatments, just contact us or write it in the comment box of your renewal slip and we would be glad to get it to you.  We can add any of these at anytime during the season at your request.

Soil Testing

It can be beneficial to perform a soil test on your lawn before any applications are done to determine the current PH balance in your lawn and correct nutrient deficiencies.

Season Long Grub Control

The first year this needs a fall and early summer application to last a whole season, and one in early summer there after.

Lawn Pest Control, i.e. Flea, Tick and Insect Control

This service can be done anytime through the season either prior to or during an infestation.  Fleas would likely need more than one treatment to break their life cycle, about two weeks apart.  Treatments for other pests last about four weeks, depending on weather conditions.

Fungicide

Fescue lawns can get brown patch and other fungus related diseases.  This treatment is usually done late spring and early summer, when the moisture is high and the temperature starts to rise.  They actually resemble a dry lawn.  Spots start to turn yellow-brown and then die.  Over watering and watering in late afternoon and evening feeds the disease.  This will most likely occur in the sunniest part of the lawn, since it thrives in sun.  Treatment for this is costly but if caught early, can save your lawn.

Tree and Shrub Treatments

Many varieties of trees and shrubs need extra care due to bug infestation, i.e. bag-worms/bores/scale, etc., amendments such as fertilizer/iron and fungicide for needle blight, gull, etc.
